Thoreau was wrong. Actually, most of the historical thinkers I like best were around 99% wrong, but 1% right is a solid A on the human bell curve. By reality, Thoreau meant truth, which no one craves. Even Thoreau didn’t crave truth, he just had a mild aversion to bullshit, which is hardly the same thing. Everyone has a bullshit limit beyond which it can be too much, but that’s just a matter of comfort level and doesn’t make you a truth-nut.
