“I didn’t have time to write a short letter,
so I wrote a long one instead.”

Mark Twain

I took the time to write a short document. I wrote the first draft in about three weeks while staying at Karl’s, then I filled it out in about two months, then I took another two months to cut it in half and then another two months to cut it in half again. I could have let it go four months earlier and four times longer, but this material isn’t wide-ranging like the trilogy; it’s really just one thing viewed from many angles. It has all the inherent complexity of any attempt at cross-paradigm communication, but it doesn’t benefit from overtelling. Less is definitely more.
